Neve summing for computer-based producers in a 16 channel format
The Neve 8816 is a summing mixer from legendary manufacturers Neve, bringing the stunning summing sound of Neve to computer-based producers and smaller format studios.
The Neve 8816 uses the same transformer mixing circuitry as 80-series consoles. Using custom transformers by Carnhill on the stereo bus and mastering-grade stereo width controls makes the 8816 a powerful summing unit capable of adding a real authentic analogue summing to any setup.
Hand built in the United Kingdom, the Neve 8816 summing mixer has a total of 16 inputs, each with level, pan, gain, cue and cur and solo controls. There are two sets of speakers, four monitor sources, independent monitor level controls, a talkback mic, headphone outputs and cue sends. There is also a digital output option for the 8816 fader pack, and more than one Neve 8816 can be hooked up using a 2 track bus. The result of these features is a summing mixer capable of producing the stunningly open and punchy mixes that Neve consoles have built a name on.
A true Neve summing mixer, the Neve 8816 has +15db gain on each channel, and the post-insert mix function facilitates mixing in separate stems of mixing a stem with effects. Settings are also saveable within a Mac or PC via the USB port on the back, making the Neve 8816 an incredibly versatile capable of taking a writing room, project studio or home recording setup to the next level, bringing stunning Neve analogue summing to otherwise sterile digital mixes.
