This is a beautiful Studer A80 2" 24-Track tape machine. It has been owned from new by Miloco Studios, and was the original multitrack machine from the first ever Miloco studio, opened in 1984 in London's Hoxton Square. In the 1990s it was moved to Matt Johnson's famous The Garden studio, where it served on a huge number of recordings up to the studio's closure in 2012. Since then it has lived at north London's Livingston Studios in studio 2. As fewer and fewer clients use tape we have decided the time has come to sell our trusty Studer so it can begin the next chapter in its life.
This Studer A80 is a MKiv and comes with auto-locater, custom remote (with original "Milo" logo), and a spare module. It has just been fully serviced by Clive Kavan so it's in great condition. Prior to that it had regular servicing and its pinch rollers were replaced in 2016. The heads are also in great condition, and its hours are 18237. Collection from north London, national and international delivery can be discussed, but this wide-body A80 is large!
